1. The line “For Whom the Bell Tolls” is taken from John Donne’s poem No man is an Island.
2. Metallica has sung a song “For Whom the Bell Tolls” from their second album Ride the Lightning.
3. Picasso’s Guernica showcases Spanish Civil war and bombing of Guernica. Hemingway’s For Whom the Bell Tolls is based on his experiences during the Spanish Civil war.
